A team of seven Australia Post/StarTrack employees will cycle 950kms from Sydney to Surfers in 7 days to raise much needed funds for Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off the Streets organisation.

They reckon it’s the least they can do for disadvantaged kids who may be homeless, drug-dependent or recovering from abuse.

The kids in the Youth Off the Streets program will join them in the ride as they work towards turning their lives around to build a positive future.

You can support the team or an individual rider. If you’re an Australia Post or StarTrack employee, you can donate directly from your pay and Australia Post will match your donation dollar for dollar up to $200.*

*Donation matching is up to $200 per Australia Post and StarTrack employee per year.

Thai Hong

I am Thai Hong from Sydney Gateway Facility. Last year I attended a fundraiser dinner for Youth off the Streets and felt inspired to ride and participate in the Sydney to Surfers ride. This year I want to help raise more funds for this incredible cause. I am ready for the challenge and prepared for the long distances to support Youth off the Streets.

Jamie Cummings

I’ve done this ride five times previously and have seen first-hand the impact we can all make. We rode last year with the Youth off the Streets students and helping them exceed their own expectations was incredible.

My wife and I believe investing in these activities sets great examples for our children and exposing them to broader parts of the community keep them grounded. I’m very excited about raising the bar from a fundraising perspective where last year we raised $30,000 and this year we are aiming for $50,000.

Guy Hopkins

Reflecting on last year, what began as a ride to raise money for a great cause, expectantly transformed into one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. Throughout the ride we observed the emotional rollercoaster each of the Youth off the Streets kids went through to achieve their goal of ‘riding all the way’ to the Gold Coast. It was an amazing journey and I’m really looking forward to working with the kids again this year to assist them to achieve their goals.

I am excited to be riding with our team this year to promote a great cause and make a difference to lives of the children. I know it won’t be easy to ride such a long way in seven days but I am looking forward to meeting people in towns along the way and getting to know some of the students who will ride with us. Hopefully it will be as inspiring for them, as it will be for us. The ride is a huge challenge but I know it will be worth every pedal.

Aziziye Akyuce & Debbie Cummings

We are the support team behind the scenes of this amazing ride! Last year we supported everyone throughout the ride, driving ahead of the riders to transport all the gear needed by them over the seven days, working with local community groups to set up morning teas and lunches for the participants and youths on the ride - in excess of 220 people every day, and creating Trust Circles with the youths to listen to and share experiences. We are looking forward to participating again this year.

Dennis Dominguez

Having spent my apprenticeship with Australian Defence Industries (Woolloomooloo), I was confronted by the harsh realities that many disadvantaged kids faced - some whom were also my age – as I travelled throughout Sydney. I hope that through my participation in this event I will be able to help provide life changing opportunities that will help the future generation of Australia to grow and prosper.

I decided to raise awareness and funds for Youth off the Streets because it’s a hard life on the streets is no place for our future generations.
